To Whom It May Concern:
This year we are hosting the first annual Kevin Miya Veteran’s Day Golf Classic benefiting the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. Kevin Miya, a Civil Engineer for the City of Pittsburg, passed away from Pancreatic Cancer on February 25, 2008. This tournament will honor his memory and raise money for pancreatic cancer research.
The mission of the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Foundation is focusing on the causes, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of pancreatic cancer. Severely limited funding for pancreatic cancer research has likewise limited the size of the research community pursuing progress against the disease. Greater commitment of financial resources and scientific expertise are needed to achieve significant improvements in pancreatic cancer diagnosis and management. We are asking that you help in our fight to ensure everyone touched by this horrible disease has a better chance of survival and quality of life by donating gifts, gift certificates or become one of our hole sponsors at the tournament. If your business is interested in donating to our event, we would greatly appreciate your support. All the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
